That’s So ‘70s Translated to Life in Class

 Is it possible to associate a sleek pant with the hippie look from the 1970s? In the year 2013, designers Calla Haynes, Anna Sui and Marc Jacobs have it happen-well.  Bell-bottoms may have been left behind forty years ago but bold retro patterns from the ‘70s have made their way back onto the runways. Instead of watching reruns of That ‘70s Show on your laptop, take inspiration from this decade’s style to your studious adventures as a Queen’s Student.  Wear patterned pants similar to those shown at Calla or try out a collared pinstripe button up top inspired by Marc Jacobs.

Quilting on a Night OutWhen planning to go out on a Friday night, a Queen’s student would primarily think of wearing a quilted leather bag and no other piece of clothing with the same stitching pattern. The emergence of quilted jackets, skirts and dresses on this season’s runways are proving just how versatile this pattern is.  Designers such as Michael Kors, Rag & Bone and Tibi are reconstructing the way people think of quilting.Embroidered Prints at the Dinner TableA nice restaurant outing undertaken in the spirit of celebration is as good an excuse as any to dress to the nines, but planning a nice outfit to wear isn’t always easy.
