Last Minute Valentine

Valentine’s Day, a day about celebrating love and joy and togetherness, so… WHY ARE YOU SO STRESSED?! Relax already!2
You didn’t make plans, so what? You don’t have a significant other to cuddle up with, so what? V-Day can still be super fun whether it’s with a friend or a romantic partner.
What to do:
Dinner and a movie is basically the classic of all date classics. It’s possible that there are restaurants that still have spots available for dinner on Valentine’s Day night, but if everywhere is packed why not make your dude/shorty/life partner a romantic dinner? Don’t identify as a Jamie Oliver or a Martha Stuart? No prob, man! Spaghetti and meatballs (a la Lady and the Tramp) is THE go to easy meal to make, throw a couple candles on the table and BAM super cute date night for two.
Now for the movie, check out the independent movie theatre in town, it’s guaranteed to be much more intimate than a big-box theatre and will probably be playing an old classic like Casablanca or maybe even a new cute romance film (Kingston peeps check out the Screening Room http://screeningroomkingston.com/calendar/).
Hey, guess what, its winter. Snow and ice + skates and toboggans = super fun date ideas! Hit up a Tim Horton’s for some hot chocolate (arguably the best hot chocolate in my books), and there you go another perfect V-Day date!

Valentine’s Day isn’t about spending the most money or about having the most elaborate plans: it’s about spending time with someone you love. So relax, take a deep breathe, and make a handmade card with love and go skating!Yours Creatively,Leandra Guillet, Online ContributorGraphic: Sophie Barkham
