3a131It’s astonishing to think that we’re almost 2 months into the school year and just a day away from homecoming. For most of you, and myself of course, homecoming is by far the most anticipated event since frosh week, and personally I can't wait any longer for it! I don't mean to get sappy on you all, but as a 4th year, I still can’t come to grips with the fact that this will be my last homecoming ever (at least as a student), and one thing is for sure…I plan to make the absolute most of it.With so many music related events happening this weekend, I thought I’d bring you up to speed on them and how to make the most of HOCO 2015.Queen’s alumni Devan & Khalid are teaming up with the Attic Kids to bring you a 10 am backyard concert on Saturday to kick off the homecoming festivities. Devan and Khalid have been a campus favourite over the past few years and have recently formed a band to back them up. After seeing their gig at QPOP earlier this month, I know they are sure to put on a good show for us. Later on in the day, you have got to go check out Union Street for the second annual ReUnion Street Festival. Last year the AMS did an amazing job of organizing the festival and were even able get the Sheepdogs to play a gig solely for Queen’s. The Arkells are playing this year, and if last year was any indication of what’s in store, we are in for something truly awesome. This should definitely be on your to-do list for Homecoming 2015.So there you have it, a little intro to some of the musical events at homecoming this year that you’ll surely be able to catch me at. But now, what better way to get you all into the homecoming spirit then to give you some tunes to start pumping you all up? Here is some stuff that I’ve been vibing with lately and what I think is fitting for the weekend ahead. Until next time.Yours Creatively,Matt Newediuk, Music Editor
