The Dolls of New AlbionBefore seeing The Dolls of New Albion I was given a few vague descriptions about the show being something about punk goth voodoo dolls. If you’ve got a quizzical look on your face right now, same: I was very confused. To be honest, it’s really hard to describe this musical because it is so unique; I have never seen anything else like it before. The show is a story within a story about a doll’s life showing the many tragedies of living a life that is misunderstood, and unaccepted by society. This tale is told –sung rather, by nine talented vocalists accompanied by a live band (right?! How cool is that?!). Everything about the show was really intricate, and well thought-out: from the circus-themed set, the charming costumes and makeup, to the tarot card themed headshots.The Dolls of New Albion, directed by Jacob Millar, plays out of the Rotunda Theatre in Theological Hall March 19^th to the 22^nd with evening shows at 8:00pm as well as two matinees on the Saturday and Sunday. I found the show quite delightful.
