Mixed medium on canvas

3, 12 x 24 inches

This work is a representation of my personal heritage and cultural traditions as India is a multicultural country full of various customs. By primarily focusing on colour and print, my artwork highlights some of India’s architecture, religion and values capturing its vivid culture. Elements in this piece such as the Om symbol, the buddha, the sanskrit and the lotus all contribute to not only mine but also to my family’s distinct values and way of living. Keep in mind that this piece is not meant to be deeply analyzed, but rather to be gently observed in order to appreciate and celebrate Asian customs. Ultimately, I strive to convey a sense of vibrancy and unity by illustrating Indian values.
