Agent 99 Dress Trunk Show

I found a little piece of heaven at Kingston’s very own Agent 99 boutique. Dresses. Hundreds, yes, hundreds of dresses from the likes of Mink Pink, French Connection and TFNC London, were shipped to the boutique for their annual three day Dress Trunk Show. As if this isn’t enough, Agent 99 also offered 20% off to those who brought an item to donate to Dress for Success, a charity that provides professional clothing for women in need. Gorgeous dresses and a great cause inspired me to make the trip downtown – and it was definitely worth it.Despite the initial shock I faced upon entering (there were SO many dresses), I managed to pick my jaw up off the ground long enough to look around and check out some of this season’s greatest trends. Whether you’re looking for that glam New Year’s Eve number or the perfect Christmas party frock, you don’t need to go any further than Princess Street for the hottest dresses of the season.1.    All that glitters…

These glam garbs certainly weren’t hard to find; there were sparkles and sequins everywhere. I have to admit, I do not consider myself to be a “sparkly” kind of girl… but these dresses made me want to bedazzle everything I own. Sequins are no longer reserved for pageant girls and prom, so embrace your inner diva and turn heads with a glitzy number this season.2.    A Case of the Blues

This rich, moody jewel tone is trending right now and is dominating the dress scene. Found in every shade from decadent midnight blue to bold, eye-popping cobalt, the dress racks were well stocked with sapphire. A daring leap away from autumn’s typical neutral tones, this hue will have you feeling anything but blue.3.    The (reinvented) LBD

The little black dress has yet to disappear off the style radar (when has it ever been not O.K. to wear a black dress?) but right now the classic piece is in its prime. This season, everyone’s favorite wardrobe staple is getting an edgy update with metallic patterns, studded details and risqué cut outs, taking this timeless piece to a whole new level.4.  20’s ThrowbackVintage lovers rejoice!  This season, get in the swing of things and pay homage to the roaring twenties with a flapper-esque frock. Draping fabric, drop waists, fringe and beading make for eye-catching pieces inspired by the Great Gatsby, with a modern day twist. If there was one trend I fell in love with, this was most definitely it.5.    Red Velvet

Another vintage revival, velvet is the must-have material of the season. If you’re going to invest in one velvet item this season, be brave and indulge in a red velvet dress. The soft and feminine fabric has a rich, luxurious feel that is sure to make velvet pieces a winter phenomenon. Add to that a deep burgundy hue and you have a dress that is just as delicious as it’s cupcake equivalent.OBSESSION: Keep your eyes open for the brand TFNC London. Exclusive at Agent 99, this brand has dresses that are drop dead gorgeous. With a subtle color pallet, intricate detailing and fabric that hangs just so, these dresses are nothing short of works of art. It is safe to say that I’m obsessed. Thanks to AGENT 99 for having us!Yours Creatively,Abi Conners
