Street Style Queen’s: Men’s Edition

Not only are the guys at Queen’s University intelligent and ridiculously good looking- they are also extremely fashion forward. I’ve spotted these guys around campus (I’m sure we all have), and have noted their great sense of style. But this time, Jaclyn and I were able to capture their looks on camera.Men’s fashion is very diverse. We’ve got our preppy boys, who can pull off a blazer even on a casual day, and then we’ve got boys who always seem to look hip and laid back. And of course, there are guys who are just so trendy that they make our jaws drops in admiration.I absolutely love the details in this outfit: the rolled up pants, the complementary bag, and the collared shirt. He’s also working with a fantastic color palette: the mixture of blue and grey tones contrasts well with the brown in the ensemble. Check out Filip’s ideal preppy look.1Name: Filip S.Wearing: Zara blazer and Docker’s oxfordsFilip's take: "Simple, preppy, and polished; a look that stands the test of time while incorporating modern trends." I instantly fell in love with this next outfit. Dustin’s attire is so clean-cut; he pulls off the minimalistic look by putting together simple pieces. And, I can’t get over his Uniform Wares watch. When it comes to accessories for guys, watches are by far the winner.22c-IMG_7952Name: Dustin Z.Wearing: Club Monaco button down, Nudies jeans, and shoes by Common ProjectsDustin's take: "I like simple things" We’ve all noticed this classic trend for both guys and girls: the flannel-collared shirt under a simple one-toned sweater. It’s definitely a go-to outfit for any occasion.3a-IMG_79563b-IMG_7962Name: Corey W.Wearing: Banana Republic oxford flannel and cardiganCorey's take: “Pretty casual, all American.” Accessories add the perfect touch to every outfit. I love the dark brown and gold combination found in these two pieces!4Name: Eddie W.Wearing: casted ring from Tungsten Carbide (engraved with elvish script from Lord of the Rings) and leather book from Queen's School of Business conferenceEddie's take: “I mix shades of heritage, with a touch of streetwear.” It’s jacket season, or more specifically, peacoat season. Why not stay warm and look good?5a-Edit-15b-Edit-2Name: Christian M.Wearing: Lands End peacoatChristian's take: “Classy, yet laid back.” For a more casual look that is ideal for the chilly weather, we found Adam and Justice. They were both sporting Hershel bags, and were bundled up in speckled knit sweaters.6 6c-IMG_7976Name: Adam V.Wearing: Scotch and Soda knit sweater and Blundstone shoesAdam's take: “I’m very urban, I like following new trends. But really, I just like to live everyday like I’m in front of a camera.”7a-IMG_79387Name: Justice K.Wearing: Topman jacket, Topman knit, and Hershel laptop bagJustice's take: “My style reflects who I am, my interests, and my background. I wear what I feel comfortable in and I don’t dress for other people.” If you want to sport an edgier look, this ensemble is the perfect inspiration. The black leather jacket and boots give a roughness to his look, while the scarf gives a nice pop of colour.88a-IMG_7657Name: Matt C.Wearing: Zara sunglasses, H&M sweater and pants, and Rockport shoesMatt's take: “I’d say my style is street-wear.” Whether they are on their way to Stauffer, or walking down Princess Street, the amazing thing about these guys is that they look effortlessly put together no matter where they are.Yours Creatively,Amy Yu, Online ContributorPhotography: Jaclyn McConnell and Amy Yu
