FINDING MY ROOTS
South Asian women have been using methods like this for years to keep their hair silky. I had to rediscover the process, one that bonds the women of our culture in an unspoken manner, passing knowledge down from mother to daughter. When I did, I found a new sense of appreciation. I had searched everywhere for an answer to my hair struggles, and here it was, in the place closest to me. Everything I did brought me back to my roots.

Trust your intuition. Set goals for yourself that you know are attainable and maybe ones that may not seem attainable at the moment. Remind yourself that everything is cumulative. Remind yourself that you are already there and be present in the moment. Appreciate the now. Respect the dreams and ambitions of those around you. You will be happy that you did.

The “ick” is a blanket term for specific qualities or habits that give you a cringe feeling. In short, the “ick” is a turn-off.
