To create space and capacity to amplify Indigenous voices and Indigenous-led calls to action against the colonial state, MUSE will be pausing all publishing on our online site and MUSE-related activity on our social media from July 1 until Sunday July 4th. As an organization that is led and comprised of mostly non-Indigenous settlers, has a home on the traditional land of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation peoples and has members across unceded lands in Canada, we have a responsibility to (un)learn and reflect on the ways in which we can take action against colonialism, genocide and land theft. To reflect on the land you are situated on as settlers, please visit: https://native-land.ca.The Indian Residential School Survivor Society (IRSSS) strives to provide physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual growth, development, and healing through culturally-based values and guiding principles for Indigenous Survivors, Families, and Communities. In light of the mass unmarked grave findings throughout Canada, the IRSSS demand for funding is extremely high as they require additional funds to provide counselling, health support and cultural support.
