MUSE NEWS JANUARY 25xMUSENEWS3

  1. Kim Kardashian releases the official cover of her selfie book, “Selfish”. The idea for the book was (naturally) thought of by Kanye West, Kim’s number one fan. The cover shows Kardashian with wet, slicked back hair, perfect make up, and a pout, of course.

  1. Rick Owens has freed the penis in his F/W 2015 show, earning him the unofficial name of #dickowens. The fashion world may have become desensitized to the occasional breast on the runway- such styling is just another part of fashion week. However, when Rick Owens recently sent four of his models out onto the runway with subtle peepholes cut at the crotch area, showing complete nudity underneath, he definitely surprised his audience.

  1. Death of A$AP Yams. The hip-hop community was shocked to hear about the passing away of A$AP Yams, born Steven Rodriguez, former member of the New York collective A$AP Mob. Those that knew him, such as A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, and Abel from the Weeknd, posted tributes to him all over social media. The cause of his death is still unknown. Rest in peace A$AP Yams.

  1. American Sniper Becomes One of the Biggest Surprise Blockbusters in 15 Years. American Sniper, a true story about one of the deadliest snipers in history, Chris Kyle, topped the charts with an estimated $105 million dollars at the box office. The movie, starring Bradley Cooper and directed by Clint Eastwood, soared past box office records. The movie is filled with everything from suspense to romance, making it easy for viewers to connect to. A definite success for your next movie night.

  1. Frank’s tribute to Aaliyah. Frank Ocean made a beautiful tribute to R&B artist, and actress, Aaliyah Dana Haughton, who passed away in 2001. Frank did not disappoint with his melodic cover of the Isley Brother's "At Your Best (You Are Love)", releasing it on what would have been her 36th Listen to his heartwarming song here: http://frankocean.tumblr.com/.
