I’ve always been a fan of headphones because a great pair can make a huge difference in terms of sound quality, and the overall experience you get from listening to a great album. Here are a few brands and headphones I have tried, and owned over the years (obviously these were the choices I actually liked – the ones that didn’t make the cut… simply didn’t). Unlike my Dad who is a real hi-fi kind of guy, I’m not claiming to know too much of the technical side, but this should be a fun intro into the world of headphones! There’s a pair for every person out there so explore! I promise they’re worth the price and will change your life.  THE FASHIONISTA: FRENDS TAYLOR “FRENDS WITH BENEFITS” HEADPHONESThese headphones are probably the only headphones that you could wear as an accessory and still get props for looking bomb. Frends “Friends with Benefits” Taylor is a stylish headphone with surprisingly good sound quality. Great for a variety of sounds, these babies are fully portable, and fully chic. For the fashionista in your life that still cares about sound quality – Frends has got you covered. THE ROCKSTAR: MARSHALL “THE MAJOR BLACK”First off, let’s talk style. These headphones are by the famous rock and roll brand Marshall, and they have definitely made it clear they mean business. Sleek, black and classic – the Major is pure rock and roll. The sound is great if you’re listening to heavy bass and guitar riffs so they’re literally made for rock. Bonus points for being extremely portable, and having the softest ear cushions ever. THE WORLD TRAVELLER/GPA WINNER: AUDIO TECHNICA ATH-ANC9Need headphones that cancel distracting noise like crying babies on airplanes, or crying students at Stauff? Audio Technica’s ATH-ANC9 is a noise cancelling headphone like no other. I have always had a soft spot for Audio Technica (they were my first real headphone purchase), and years later they just kept bringing it. Perfect for the person that travels the world, whilst simultaneously maintaining a perfect GPA. This perfect travel/study buddy will ensure a smooth ride, and study session by being comfortable on the ears, cancelling all the outside noise, and replacing it with crystal clear sound that has become synonymous with the Audio Technica brand. THE MUSIC EDITOR: GRADO SR125eThis is for the person who really cares about sound, and torrent quality. Grados are a great choice if you’re looking for a headphone that delivers the most amazing sound quality, yet somehow also looks beautiful and sleek. Providing warm tones, and smooth dynamics these headphones really bring the A game. Grado Labs themselves have an excellent reputation as one of the top companies for exceptional audio quality and the SR125e are no exception.
