My Medication Changed My Life
What they failed to realize was that I was no longer ‘Stephanie,’ but this fragile individual completely unlike the self I knew.
IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN SPICE
Picture this. Leaves are falling, you're wearing the coziest oversized knit sweater you have, and the crisp smell of decay is in the wind. It is fall and you are walking through Kingston, a little plastic ghost flaps in the wind signalling the coming of the new season; it is so close to perfect but it needs that one final push. FINDING MY ROOTS
South Asian women have been using methods like this for years to keep their hair silky. PLAYING MONOPOLY
I remember the first time I learned about sexism. Sat in my catholic elementary English class, my teacher carefully explained that we live in a world where people are excluded from things based on features they cannot change. I remember thinking how strange that was, and how I wasn’t sure what to make of it because I – at 7 years old – believed “it hasn’t happened to me”.
THE ICK FACTOR
The “ick” is a blanket term for specific qualities or habits that give you a cringe feeling. In short, the “ick” is a turn-off.
THE REINVENTION REVOLUTION
It was an opportunity to become the person we idolized from behind screens because what else are you to do when alone with your thoughts?
