To celebrate the launch of MUSE's XV issue, we asked some of campus's most talented musicians to help us ring in the event. Read on to learn about what bands they'd infiltrate if they could, who their Muses are, and how they got started...

Study Tips that ACTUALLY Work
Don’t be fooled, I’m struggling, too, but when it comes to studying, I go all out. I’ve tried all sorts of methods and have some tips that actually work. Beware, you probably won’t like them but trust me, you’ll feel better during (the fast approaching) exam season if you follow these.

With November and its assignments coming to an end and exams rearing their heads, it's time to buckle down. If you’re looking to organize anything from errands to academics this semester, have no fear. The following arsenal of apps will help bring order to your life.

Underrated Movie: Summertime
Jane Hudson, played by Katherine Hepburn in the 1955 movie, Summetime, is the pinnacle of the single woman.

Self Help's Bad Reputation
Reading self help doesn’t have to be about changing your life. It can be about hearing another viewpoint on a topic and gaining a little more knowledge. It can also be about being moved by the experiences of others and valuing their opinions.
The Problem with Male Entitlement in the 21st Century
As a new law in France recently passed allowing fines to be distributed for cat-calling women and demonstrating lewd behaviour, as well as the success of the trending #MeToo as a response to the Harvey Weinstein allegations, my experience with discussions surrounding sexual harassment and male entitlement have surfaced more than ever before in my 20 years of life.

I Documented My Outfits for 3 Weeks: Here's What I Learned
Sartorial choices say a lot about who we are, what we're going through, but it takes an exercise like this -documenting a month of one's choices of presentation- to step back and properly reflect. When I was brainstorming features for MUSE this fall, I figured it would be the right time to do it. I also figured that documenting my outfits in the first few weeks of school might be more interesting than the ones I'll (soon) have to put together in below freezing weather.

Blade Runner 2049: More than a Tribute, More than a Sequel
In a high school film course, my teacher brought a Blade Runner VHS tape to class. He sat down on a desk and held the tape in the air. “This is one of the greatest films of all time.”, he proclaimed. All of us groaned.

Rewatching Lizzie McGuire as an Adult
I don’t remember a time in my early childhood where I wasn’t completely obsessed with Lizzie McGuire. When I wasn’t watching Lizzie fumble her way through her middle school I was listening to Hillary Duff”s (aka Lizzie, aka my queen) Metamorphosis on repeat. It cannot be argued that Hillary Duff did not own the early 2000’s.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SYLVIA PLATH.
I discovered Plath when I was 19 and was reading The Bell Jar for the first time. I had just taken some time off university, and I was struggling with my own mental health when I read her semi-autobiographical novel and was introduced to Esther Greenwood. In Esther, I found a character who understood everything I was going through, who described her own depression with the words I could not find within myself...

To make your Fall Netflix days as easy as possible, here are some shows to watch based on how you’re feeling. A Netflix mood-ring if you will.

What to Expect for Halloween
Before giving you a run down of the easiest last minute costumes early next week, MUSE has compiled a list of what to expect this Halloween.

Thank you, Gord Downie.
We can’t say we didn’t see it coming. Yesterday, Gord Downie succumbed to glioblastoma, the deadly brain cancer he was publicly diagnosed with in 2016. At the age of 53, Gord lost his battle, and Canada lost an Icon.
